If the pay out for a Do not Pass Odds wager equals the amt. of the Flat wager, then the Odds bet is bridged. The section of your Odds bet that is equal to the Flat bet is positioned right next to the Flat wager. Then, the remainder of the Odds wager is put on top "bridging" them. For instance, suppose you make a five dollar Don’t Pass wager and the shooter rolls a point of eight. Knowing the true odds for the 8 are six to five (i.e., six ways to roll a seven, and five ways to roll an 8), you then place 6 dollars in Odds with the expectation of winning $5. In this example, if you actually win the 6 dollars Odds wager, you earn five dollars, which exactly equals the amount you earn with your $5 Flat bet. Therefore, since your Flat bet and Odds bet win the same amt. ($5 each), you bridge your $6 Odds bet by making a five dollar chip directly beside to your 5 dollar Flat wager, and then laying the one dollar chip so it bridges the two $5 chips.
If the payoff for a Do not Pass Odds bet does not equal the amt. of the Flat bet, then the Odds bet is heeled. This alludes to the fact that you position the bottom chip of your Odds wager chip stack exactly next to your Flat wager. Then, position all remaining Odds wager chips on top of that single chip but offset and leaning on that bottom chip (your Odds wager chip stack is crooked because it’s leaning on the bottom chip).
Befuddled? That’s ok, don’t get agitated. The dealer is always willing to assist if you don’t remember. After a couple of times, it all makes sense. It won’t take too much time before you’re an expert. If you’re not certain what to do the first instance you attempt it, basically tell the dealer, "I want to place some Odds but I do not comprehend if it should be bridged or heeled." The dealer asks, "How much do you want to place?" Let’s assume you say, "Fifteen dollars to win 10." The dealer will request that you place your chips on the craps table (dealers aren’t permitted to collect anything, above all chips, right from a gambler), and then the dealer correctly heels or bridges them based on the amt. of your Flat wager. You’ll quickly get the hang of it. Just do not be afraid to ask the croupier questions. Her job is just to deal, but also to be accommodating and help the gamblers.
