Be brilliant, play smart, and learn how to play craps the correct way!

Games that use dice and the dice themselves date all the way back to the Crusades, but current craps is approximately one hundred years old. Current craps developed from the ancient Anglo game called Hazard. No one absolutely knows the birth of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been discovered by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s supposed that Sir William’s paladins enjoyed Hazard through a blockade on the citadel Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the fortification’s name.

Early French colonists imported the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when banished by the British, the French moved down south and located sanctuary in southern Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they left Acadia, they brought their preferred game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns broke down the game and made it more mathematically fair. It’s believed that the Cajuns changed the name to craps, which is derived from the name of the losing throw of snake-eyes in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi riverboats and throughout the country. A great many consider the dice builder John H. Winn as the creator of modern craps. In 1907, Winn created the current craps setup. He created the Don’t Pass line so gamblers could wager on the dice to lose. Afterwords, he invented the spaces for Place bets and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
