Be clever, play cunning, and pickup craps the correct way!

Dice and dice games goes all the way back to the Crusades, but modern craps is only about 100 years old. Current craps come about from the 12th Century English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the birth of the game, however Hazard is said to have been invented by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s believed that Sir William’s paladins played Hazard amid a blockade on the citadel Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was derived from the fortification’s name.

Early French settlers brought the game Hazard to Nova Scotia. In the 18th century, when expelled by the British, the French relocated down south and settled in the south of Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they departed Acadia, they brought their preferred game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns streamlined the game and made it fair mathematically. It is believed that the Cajuns altered the name to craps, which is gotten from the term for the bad luck toss of 2 in the game of Hazard, known as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi riverboats and all over the nation. A great many acknowledge the dice maker John H. Winn as the father of current craps. In the early 1900s, Winn developed the modern craps layout. He put in place the Do not Pass line so players could bet on the dice to not win. Later, he designed the boxes for Place bets and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
