Be brilliant, play brilliant, and learn how to play craps the ideal way!

Dice and dice games date back to the Middle Eastern Crusades, but modern craps is just about one hundred years old. Modern craps formed from the 12th Century English game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the birth of the game, however Hazard is believed to have been made up by the Anglo, Sir William of Tyre, in the 12th century. It’s believed that Sir William’s horsemen wagered on Hazard through a siege on the castle Hazarth in 1125 AD. The title Hazard was gotten from the castle’s name.

Early French colonizers brought the game Hazard to Canada. In the 1700s, when driven away by the English, the French relocated down south and settled in southern Louisiana where they after a while became Cajuns. When they fled Acadia, they took their favorite game, Hazard, along. The Cajuns broke down the game and made it mathematically fair. It is said that the Cajuns adjusted the title to craps, which was acquired from the name of the bad luck toss of snake-eyes in the game of Hazard, referred to as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game moved to the Mississippi scows and across the country. Many consider the dice maker John H. Winn as the father of modern craps. In 1907, Winn developed the current craps setup. He created the Do not Pass line so gamblers could wager on the dice to not win. Later, he created the spots for Place wagers and added the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
