Be brilliant, play brilliant, and pickup craps the ideal way!

Dice and dice games goes back to the Crusades, but current craps is just about a century old. Modern craps formed from the ancient Anglo game referred to as Hazard. Nobody absolutely knows the beginnings of the game, although Hazard is believed to have been made up by the Englishman, Sir William of Tyre, sometime in the twelfth century. It is believed that Sir William’s soldiers gambled on Hazard amid a blockade on the fortification Hazarth in 1125 AD. The name Hazard was derived from the castle’s name.

Early French settlers imported the game Hazard to Canada. In the 18th century, when displaced by the British, the French moved down south and found safety in southern Louisiana where they at a later time became Cajuns. When they fled Acadia, they brought their best-loved game, Hazard, with them. The Cajuns simplified the game and made it fair mathematically. It’s said that the Cajuns changed the title to craps, which was gotten from the name of the losing throw of two in the game of Hazard, recognized as "crabs."

From Louisiana, the game extended to the Mississippi barges and throughout the nation. A good many think the dice maker John H. Winn as the creator of modern craps. In 1907, Winn assembled the modern craps setup. He appended the Do not Pass line so players can wager on the dice to lose. Afterwords, he created the spaces for Place wagers and put in place the Big 6, Big 8, and Hardways.
